Rotherham Hospice Business Breakfast, 6th May

Who should attend?

Chief executives, directors, owners and managers of businesses large and small who are interested in:

  • learning how to secure media coverage (or more than you currently get)
  • hearing about how your business and Rotherham Hospice can work together in 2015-16
  • and meeting other business movers and shakers

Programme:

7:30am – registration and breakfast.

8:00am – welcome from Gordon Bridge, Director of AESSEAL, who is kindly hosting the event.

8:05am – introduction from Christopher Duff, chief executive of Rotherham Hospice.

8:15am – How to get the media to cover your business. Tips and advice about what print and radio want (and need) whether they are looking for new stories, features, case studies and interviewees, and what they expect from you when you approach them. The media’s requirements are often very different from what they are sent by local businesses, but our panel can enlighten you.

The panel features Jo Davison, a journalist for 36 years who has worked at The Rotherham Advertiser and The Sheffield Star as columnist, feature writer, women’s and business editor; and Jamie Veitch, presenter of the “Business Live” programme on local radio (Sheffield Live). Our panel will share their experiences of how to engage with the media and a Q & A will follow, enabling the attendees to quiz the experts for tips and advice.

8:45am – Q & A.

9:00am – optional tour of AESSEAL, one of the world’s leading specialists in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals and support systems.

9:30am – finish
